If you've been on twitter today, you probably saw that two more characters have been cast for The Hunger Games movie. I saw on twitter today an article about the newly casted male leads.

| Jennifer Lawrence |
Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss. Her most recent credit includes Winter's Bone. I haven't seen Jennifer act before but I heard that her preformance in Winter's Bone was amazing (hence an Oscar nomination). I'm very interesting in seeing how she'll portray Katniss in the movie. After she was cast, I looked up a lot of interviews/clips of her on YouTube and I have a feeling that she'll be able to pull it off nicely.

Josh Hutcherson as Peeta. His recent credits include The Kids are Alright & Journey to the Center of the Earth. The only role I can recall seeing Josh in was Journey to the Center of the Earth. It was a cute movie but I don't think that it's enough for me to decide if I'll like him for the role of Peeta. Apparently he was campaigning to be Peeta and really identifies with the character. Well, it's always good to have a fan!

| Liam Hemsworth |
Liam Hemsworth as Gale. His recent credits include The Last Song. Again, I haven't seen him act at all. All I know is he dated Miley Cyrus and is orginally from Australia. I've heard a lot of people upset about him being cast as Gale.
Overall, I'm slightly annoyed that they changed the hair colors to blonde for Gale/Katniss and brown for Peeta. It's just a little thing that I was hoping would remain the same as the books but I doubt it'll make a difference to the movies. Eye color and hair color gets changed all of the time when books are translated into film. For example, Daniel Radcliffe has blue eyes and through out the Harry Potter books, it's brought up repeatly that Harry has his mother's green eyes. Does that annoy me that he doesn't wear contacts? A little. But does it change the essense of the movie? Not really.
Also, maybe I'm not remembering it correcting but isn't Peeta tall? I'm fine with any height changes (if there were any) but I remember Peeta being considered tall. Josh is about 5'7" according to IMDB (Jennifer: 5'7", Liam: 6'4"). Plus with camera angles, Hollywood is able to make people look taller or shorter than they are real life. That's why people are surpised that Tom Cruise is only 5'7" (although, I've heard that he also wears lifts!).
I'm looking foward to the movie and hearing about who gets cast for the rest of the roles. Now that three of the main characters have been chosen, it'll set a tone for the movie. I can't wait to see who they choose for Primrose and Haymitch.
